- Paleo is a functional and therapeutic nutrition protocol that involves eating foods typical of ancient people. In the Paleolithic era, people were engaged in gathering and hunting, and accordingly, the diet included a lot of meat, fish, nuts, eggs, seeds, mushrooms, and a little less berries, fruits, vegetables, and greens.
- We use a limited amount of soy sauce to marinate the meat.
- Genetic scientists, supporters of Paleo, argued that the development of the human body, in particular the gastrointestinal tract and metabolic mechanisms, stopped in the Stone Age. In other words, the body only managed to adapt to the Neanderthal eating style. But agricultural crops (wheat, rye, barley, and even buckwheat), which began to be grown only in 9000 BC, dairy products, potatoes, corn, and, of course, ready-made, processed foods of today have a negative impact on our health and weight.
- This functional therapeutic protocol involves the exclusion from the diet of those foods that stimulate inflammatory processes. It does not contain cereals, as well as brown rice, quinoa and buckwheat, bread, pastries, any dairy products, semi-finished meat products, sugar, legumes.
- Diseases for which it is recommended to follow the Paleo protocol:
- in the presence of autoimmune diseases – for example, rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis, Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, systemic lupus erythematosus
